Drishyam 2: The Resumption is an Indian language family drama film from Malayalam, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor through Aashirvad Cinemas. It is a sequel to his 2013 film, Drishyam. The film, starring Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil, returns their roles from the original. The story takes place six years after the Drisham events.
The featured photo lasts for 46 days from September to November 2020 after
security measures were put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The
film was shot in and around Thodupuzha at the same location as Drishyam and
several scenes in Kochi. Anil Johnson composed songs and scores, while
Satish Kurup was involved in cinematography.
The maker originally
planned a theatrical release, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was
decided to publish the film via Amazon Prime Video's OTT service, which
premiered worldwide on February 19, 2021.
