Story: The grisly murder of a man in his beach house creates a
series of events centered around two doppelgangers. Which of the following
does a crime in common?
Review: On paper this remake of the Tamil Tadam film in Telugu
sounds very clever. A story that looks similar amidst it all and allows
the police to find their money. Sounds interesting, right? The reality is
different because despite winning curiosity and you want to know who
committed this crime, Kishore Tirumala tests your patience so much that
you almost want to give up.
Siddhart (Ram Potineri) is a civil engineer who really will make all his
dreams come true. He has a great housing project and the girl he loves,
Mahima (Malvika Sharma), loves him too. Adity who looks like him is just
the opposite. As a drunkard, seducer and gambler, he is also a clever con
artist who likes to con the rich with their money just to play it all in a
card game. A homicide at the beach house locks them up, but with
insufficient evidence, the police have only 48 hours to solve the case.
What happened next was RED.
But before we get to the more nervous parts of the film, as there are two
"protagonists" to explore, Kishore Tirumala spends his sweet time
developing his character. After a while the characters repeat themselves
and you can't wait to find out what all this means. Siddhart sings a duet
in Italy, Aditya gets a special number with Heba Patel and the questions
are directed home that they are clashes until you get tired. And when all
goes well, the story gets rushed and there isn't enough time to sink into
what is really happening on the screen. The character openly explains the
dialogue if you've just watched everything go on the screen. Everything
just happened to support this double. I understand you ...
What worked for this film, despite its dramatic narrative, are the
preceding stories. A common complaint is that directors never explain why
certain characters are who they are and that they choose to write lazily.
Kishore gave you all this and more. The stories here may not always be
interesting, but at least they help you understand these people better.
Wanting to get to know these people better is a completely different
story.
Ram stands out as Siddhart and Aditya. He seems easily on screen to play
the almost awkward, tense, but basically "good" Siddhart, as well as the
evil heart of gold Aditya, the latter of which seems more attractive. And
it's only her appearance that makes you want to survive this whole
charade, even if you can predict the story from a mile to a certain point.
Malvika Sharma looks charming and gets a chance that her character will
have meaning later. (Even though it's time for directors to learn to stop
portraying violence against women as cinematic tropes with the aim of
revenge.) It's a mystery why Amrita Ayer is in this story, except for
obscure purposes. Nivetha Pethuraj goes beyond SI Yamini's naive and
wide-open play.
RED 2021 movie has a moment and two very interesting characters at its
core. He also has a brilliant player. If only he hadn't been misled by the
drag scenario. Only give this one a chance when a strange, mixed mix of
romance, thriller, and masala is your cup of tea.
